The large block at the bottom is Block 1. The rest are all part of Block 2. Those hearts call for little black circles to be applique'd on them but I didn't really like they way they look. So for now...they aren't going on.
Here's Block #2 (on the bottom) of Wool Garden from Farmhouse Woolens. I think Block 3 is on it's way, so I'm glad to be caught up with this one. (When I went to the site to link it to you, I see that there's a SALE going on. Hurry on over there because it ends on the 10th.Wheee)
Now...on to the storm warning. If you live in snow country, you probably know that these warnings can sometimes be a big bust! We've had lots of times when they call for us to get alot of snow only to have a few flurries in the air. So, I'm showing you what we had on Christmas Eve and what we have now. Then, I'll take a picture of what we "get" with this storm and we'll see how accurate the forecasters are this time. They are calling for us to get between 4 - 8 inches.
Oh! Am I first, we just got home from Eugene and it is blowing and snowing! I think it will look different tomorrow. Your BOM are coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see if they are accurate about the storm warning. I woke up to snow here in England (although it was only a light dusting)and it had not be forecast
ReplyDeleteGreat applique blocks. Looks like fun...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks. I'm seening more and more wool projects and love them. As I recall you're in Oregon...that must be where all the snow is because here in Ohio we have NONE and it's January already.
ReplyDeleteLove all your blocks...OMG look at that snow...we talk about the weather guys here all the time...they are the only people in the world that have jobs where they can be wrong lots and still keep their jobs. They give us a storm warning and the sun shines...we're supposed to get sprinkles and the thunderstorms roll in with 4" of rain...
ReplyDeleteBrrrrr....looks pretty though! Anne, I have Karen's wool blocks too and haven't started yet....I think in part because I'm trying to decide technique. Yours are lovely....would you share how you went about appliquing them?
ReplyDeleteThose Christmas Eve pictures look like when I had the bright idea to visit my mom up there a few years ago in December, woke up in the morning and there was about 18 inches of snow on her back deck, my car was buried in her driveway for a week. Do you remember what year that was? I want to say it was like 2002 or 2003.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. I don't live where it snows much and when the weatherman says we are going to get several inches and it does not happen, you have a house full of disappointed people.
ReplyDeleteI am not doing the Girl Gang quilt but I sure do like what I see so far. Since it is Girl Gang, I assume you are selecting your own fabrics. Good choices!
ReplyDeleteThe snow pictures are beautiful!
Loved seeing your blocks done so far. I am also doing the one from Farmhouse Woolens. I am not quite caught up though as I am two behind. LOL...I am sure #3 will be arriving any day now. I sure do wish that our yard and fields was empty of all the white stuff. We drove home from SeaTac last evening and what should have been a two hour drive north to our home took us three....Louise
ReplyDeleteWell - your winter storm warning brought us another 2-3 inches last night - LOL! I think I'll move to Florida (not)! Looks like you found plenty to do, Anne! I'm so envious of the Wool Garden - I've got to finish my current project so I can get on to a wool project!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. My quilt is a Meme's quilt. I love the blocks you are working on. Holy Moly--that's A LOT of snow!! Take care. Julie
ReplyDeleteThe snow is so pretty! It's almost as if you had it special ordered for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the forecasting thing . . . it often rains very little when they warn us. . . & then when they say there is a little chance of it - or when it will miss us completely - is when we really get measurable rain! (We tend to love our rains here!)
(Love your blocks! - cute!) xo, Bren
Grrrrrrr you beat me again. I might just post what I've got done so far and keep myself honest. Great job sister on both BOM's. Wow those snow pictures are beautiful - looks like it didn't hang around very long. Sounds like you've got a whopper heading your way tho according the the Today show weather.
ReplyDeleteHugs - karen
Methinks you are the devil -- tempting with those gorgeous blocks! I'm sooo jealous to see so many blogs full of snow! All we get here is ice, sleet and dustings. Boooo.
ReplyDeleteI should join you - I'm getting this year's GG from Simple Folk - but I'm trying hard not to start another large applique quilt until I finish one of the tops I have going now. So I've decided to satisfy my urge for primitive by doing her mini quilt club. I have Peace on Earth almost finished - just have to do the rest of the two trees. Hopefully I'll finish by tomorrow.
