A Tisket a Tasket block 4

These blocks are just so much fun to make and I look forward each month to see what Anne has come up with. There's still lots of time to join in on this Block of the Month. Just click on the Tisket a Tasket picture on my sidebar and it will take you right to the pattern.
In this picture, you can sure tell where the natural light was coming from. Unfortunately I couldn't fix it in my photo program. Oh well, you get the gist of it! The actual color of the background fabric is on the right side.

Same thing happened here. Maybe I should be using a flash. Anyway, I got another block of Winter Wonderland finished in the car on our trip to and from California. I think I only have 3 more blocks. Wheee!

I also did one more block on "Stars around the Garden". It's the one in the lower right corner. I only have 3 more blocks of this one to finish and can then start on the center section. I'm trying really hard to only work on UFO's and not start anything new. Boy, that's no fun at all!

  2. I have been very non-productive in March because I was trying to make progress on big projects...but I think we should both give ourselves permission to do a few other projects. My next one: an Easter wallhanging!

All your blocks are gorgeous...really need to start some wool projects, esp. since my local quilt shop I work at has just gotten a stack of wool felt in in yummy colors!

  5. I'm glad to see what the 4th block is - I haven't downloaded it yet. In fact, I haven't even started the 3rd block. So I guess I'll work on both of those at the same time! Hee Hee! Yours are adorable!

  6. I guess I didn't realize that you are making the Tisket blocks from wool, I really love the look and texture of your blocks. I'm still just collecting the patterns LOL.

Kudos on trying to get your UFO's caught up. It's so darn hard to keep at it, but I know you can do it!!

  8. Your baskets are ridiculously cute!

You are making me want to do the Winter Wonderland too but I am on a UFO mission here too.

Hey! I just finished the binding on my Stars in the Garden. I will take a picture when the lighting is better.

I also stared a wool project. I got as far as the Glue basting. Now I am stuck on what kind of threads I need.

  9. I love your 4th block. I love them all. I have the first block done in wool and embroidery and I really wanted to do it in fabric. I think that it is my ADD kicking in.

  10. Hey Anne - remember me, LOL. Your blocks of Anne's are turning out adorable - loving the wool, but that's not a surprise is it and your Winter Wonnderland block is so cute, I'm hoping to start that project with my Niece after the move and your quilt blocks are yummy - love the fabrics. Congrats to you on finishing up UFO's - might not be fun all the time but you will be happy when you can cross them off the list. As usual I'm always inspired when I pop in to see what's new in your neck of the woods :).

    Hugs- Karen

  11. I am about to start the Winter Wonderland blocks and I am curious about the fabrics you choose for your whites and also that you did your embroidery on each block before putting the quilt together. Did you back your blocks with something special? I appreciate any help you may be able of offer. Love you blog and your wooly things.

  14. Very lovely wool blocks! I like taking projects along on road trips, too. It makes the time go by faster. I like your redwork block, that's really cute.

I think I may have to go and purchase that American Patchwork Magazine - it looks like there are a lot of nice projects in there!

    Have a good day!

  15. I LOVE that Winter Wonderland pattern; it's been resting in my stack, just waiting...... I also like your bunny blocks; they're waiting, too. So many patterns, only one pair of hands. Sigh.

  16. Wow, Anne. You've been a busy stitching lady!

I sure wish I could stitch in the car while my husband drives. I can't stitch, read, knit or anything because it makes me nauseous.

Your wool version of Anne's TAT BOM is fantastic. Love the Easter-y colors of wool you used. I think I'm going to start on mine tomorrow...time permitting.

Thanks for sharing all you eye candy with us.

  30. Anne I am so glad you stopped by my blog!!! You are a busy gal! Your work is beautiful. If I thought I would have time right now, I would join that b.o.m. It is sooo cute! I got my latest American Patchwork...but haven't had time for it either! Ugh. That is funny about the scorpion, at least you caught him before he snuggled in for the night in your bed!!! In your sewing room too....have mercy. Our "new" house has a little sewing cottage (joy!) and that was the first thing I thought...there CANNOT be scorpions in the sewing cottage!!! The exterminator will be my new best friend : )

  32. Not sure if my mail was sent so I am reposting. Boys are great. I love how you are using wool, where locally do you get the wool? I am doing BJ's wool BOM but the supply is limited. I always remember your house during the XMAS holiday...beautiful. Don't know the name of the person at So Many Quilts but she knows you!
