It’s hard to believe that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the corner, isn’t it? Our night time temps sure feel like it though. We’re having some below freezing nights so the electric blankets are now on the beds. I love the colors at this time of year and the newest block from Anne really let me have fun pulling from my wool stash. I love the way this block turned out.
While we were at quilt market, I bought a fat pack of the new Primitive Gatherings plaids called “Simple Gatherings”. Anne and I had fun picking out the sashing and border fabrics. Now I just have to get them ordered and start putting it all together. This has been such a fun project to work on all year.
I want to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and kind words. I know there will be difficult days ahead, but I really appreciate the support I’ve had from my blogging friends. What a wonderful experience blogging has been for me.
I also want to thank Mr. CnW for stepping in and helping me out because I’m not sure the words would have ever come to me in a blog post. Losing a parent is something we all have or will have to face, and one of the most difficult and stressful times we will have in our lives; but with the support of family and friends, hopefully, the journey will be a bit easier.
Hugs, Anne

Sending a big hug your way. We're all here to support each other. Quilter bloggers are amazing people. Your quilt is going to be so cute when you finish it, only one block to go! I would love to see your wool stash just from seeing this quilt! I'll be in Bend tomorrow for the weekend, maybe I'll bump into you when I'm out running the streets with my sister-in-law getting in trouble. Take care.

Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteTime will help with the sadness plus those around you will help give you strength - so hang in there! I lost my mom when I was 26 and I still miss her 31 years later. We learn to live with all the wonderful memories and we share them with those around us.
On to quilting...your BOM is stunning! Love it! I tried to enlarge the pic to see what your beige background fabric is...? Is it wool or cotton and if it is cotton how is it to applique wool onto? Do you use a hoop when you are appliquing?
Thanks and take care!
Paulette
your blocks are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletei am so sorry about the loss of your mom...take care of yourself! ♥
I am loving this woolie quilt or yours...;-)
ReplyDeleteI am behind with my cotton applique one(hanging head in shame) but I do plan on doing more of the blocks in wool too.

Another lovely block!! My dad would have loved this one as he fed every squirrel that lived in the trees in their front yard! You could sit in my parents living room and watch the squirrels "dine". :-) I miss my dad, just as you will miss your mom, but thank goodness for all the wonderful memories that stay with us.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read of your mother's passing. They bring such love and delight into our lives it's hard to think of them leaving us. Remember that she is only as far as your heart... and you will never forget her!
