California Christmas - 2

After we left Janet’s house, we all jumped in the car and headed up to El Dorado Hills to Diane’s house (Patty’s sister).   She was also all decked out for the holidays.  Diane is a very talented wood worker (although she says she’s taking a hiatus to concentrate on quilting.  Woo Hoo)

 

I think Patty made this for her.

 

This is one of Diane’s creations.  She’s got a real knack there.

This is her new venture.  Working with wool.   Pattern is by Buttermilk Basin and there are 12 seasonal center little banners.  Note to self….work on this one!

And, she was also into cross-stitch.

Isn’t this a darling shelf with the bent spoons as hangers.   Perfect for displaying another one of Diane’s projects.

Another gift from Patty to her sister.

She has a huge nutcracker display and I thought Mr CnW would like this one.    I hope he doesn’t crack his balls.    (golf balls, people!)   

After sitting around chatting for awhile it was time for lunch.   We headed to Sellands Market Café in the El Dorado Hills Town Center.    Yummy.    We walked around the Center and then it was time to say goodbye to Diane and head to the Calif Gold Country for some shopping. 

 

One of our favorite stores is Country Living in Amador City, CA

I think we must have been a little late getting there because, unlike previous years, it was pretty picked over.   Looks like the economy is definitely recovering.   And my bank account was very happy about that.  

There were still some very cute decorations tho.    Check out these cute reindeer.

If you’re ever in the Sutter Creek/Amador City area, be sure and stop in and say “hi” to Sandy, the owner.   You’ll most likely find her spinning her own wool.
