These pieced stars aren't the easiest to work with. I finally had to draw my own paper piecing pattern in order to get the correct seam allowance. Grrrr
So that's it for this month. Can't wait to see what our homework is for March! We are really moving right along.
Thanks, Lori, for this fun project.
I always love the look of wool on cotton. Your feathered friend is looking great.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Those stars weren't easy!
ReplyDeletePS, I've added your blog to the linky party!
ReplyDeleteI never join Lori's SALs, partly because I don't applique, other than wool. Seeing your blocks in wool was a "Duh" moment for me. Really look good!
ReplyDeleteI really really like your wool turkey!! Adding wool will provide a great dimension to this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI see you are using both cottons and wool for the applique. I dislike making those stars. I use freezer paper and make templates. With paper piecing, I tend to end up with fabrics going the wrong direction and I am not good at paper piecing anyway. Your blocks look great!
ReplyDeleteLove your choices for the blocks, I also use fabric and wool in appliqué.
ReplyDeleteI tend to get lazy and find wool for small pieces, is so much easier;)

ReplyDeleteThey all look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look wonderful so far, before you know it, you'll be putting the whole quilt together!!
