It’s hard to believe that August is here and fall is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to fall because we’ve had some really hot weather and with it have come lightening and thunderstorms. (and….I don’t like lightening and thunder).
Isn’t this a cute block that Anne has come up with for August? Cupcakes are so the “thing” right now. And they are the perfect dessert to take to a picnic. (If there isn’t any thunder and lightening…LOL)
After I got my block finished, I thought it would have looked cute with some sprinkles on the frosting. I may go back and add some french knots and straight stitches in some fun colors. What do you think?
Is anyone out there working on these blocks in wool with me? Because if not, I'm not doing anymore! It's too hot!
Hugs, Anne

Cute cute cupcakes, ironically I was just looking to see if there were any cupcake shops in Sacramento...and there are!!!! Yes I'm up late, I can't sleep..see you next week...xoxox
oh yes add some french knots or beads to the cupcakes, how cute that would be
stop working with the wool till you have a cold front come thru
your weather is just sooo crazy!
Kathie
Cute as can be...maybe it will be cool by the next block...fingers crossed!
the baskets are looking fabulous!!! I will be doing the baskets in wool .........when I start! LOL I should start before the weather turns and it gets hot again......enjoying winter right now!
You are a speed demon on these blocks, I checked yesterday morning and the block wasn't posted yet!! Oh yeah, I'm really sure you won't be doing the rest of them...such an idle threat LOL.

Your block is really cute! I think sprinkles is a great idea, be sure to show us a new pic if you add them. I haven't started these yet but plan to do them in wool. I hope to start as soon as I finish a wool block of the week from Primitive Gatherings. You really find working on a small block makes you hot? I haven't noticed that.
I look forward to seeing the rest of your blocks!!! I know you can't stop!
Happy stitching!
Your blocks are gorgeous!! Love the idea of the sprinkles!
I have just printed out block 8, can't wait to start stitching!
Your blocks are soooo cute, yes I am making mine in wool too. I just love to work with wool!
Sandra
The new block is so cute! It's so exciting to see it all coming together. Your finished quilt will be a beauty! Now, get out from under that hot wool... and go have a cupcake!
I think your idea sounds great! Don't you dare stop making them!!
Well you know I'm not doing them in wool, Anne - only if I can have A/C at the same time - LOL! I love the little ladybug - are those beads on her back? Definitely do the French Knots and stitches - it will be even more adorable!
Cheers!
As usual, lovely work Anne!
great job anne!!
and i vote yes on the sprinkles.
do i get a vote?
sprinkles are important!!!!
LOVE them!
Lol.... Well they sure are gorgeous! Love the new block. And of course, its gotta be wool :o)
Very, very cute Anne!
Oh yes, beads...those straight skinny ones will adorn these cupcakes beautifully. Another fantastic block by both of you!!
Your wool blocks are always so cute! And yes I think sprinkles would look adorable!
I am, I am, Anne! Wool and needle turn as well but I'm a bit behind on the needle turn ones. Just keep on going with the wool ones because they're my favorite. Not too long ago I just caught up on the wool May, Jun and July ones which you can see on my blog if you scroll back a bit.
How about using beads for the sprinkles? I think I just might do that.
When you see them all together like that, it looks awesome. Only 4 more to go. can you believe it?
I would like to be working on the blocks in wool with you, but I'm not yet anyway. We need some of that heat here, then you can go back to working with wool.
I didn't even think about a wool version but I just love it! This is my first time to your blog. It is great! I'll be back!
I am doing the blocks in wool! I haven't started stitching them yet but I have cut my pieces for the blocks and Jan and Feb are ready to stitch. :-) There is also a member of my Wooly Buddies group that is doing the blocks in wool. Love, love them done in wool. :-)
Your blocks look so wonderful! Nope not doing wool this time. Can't wait to see it when your finished.
Sharon
I love your version...can't wait to see it each month!
Love the block! I'm doing them in wool! Please don't stop! I love love love them!
Cute cupcakes, but thanks because now I want a cupcake, lol. Great choices on your wool peaches.
Hugs - Karen
Your wool version is so very cute. I am doing some of the parts of the applique in wool but not the whole thing.
Not working in wool here - way, way, way too hot and besides I can't. LOL
They look fabulous, Anne.
How cute is that? I haven't started mine yet, but soon..as soon as I finish a couple of other projects. I think I will be doing mine in redwork. I vote definitly for some little crystals for sugar sprinkles on cupcakes..Louise
I need to get busy on those blocks. I've not done one. but i DO have all the patterns. lol Your doing great.
I think adding a few beads would be a nice touch. I know how you feel about the heat, it's been too hot for anything. I love seeing your wool baskets, I hope you'll continue making them on a cooler day.
Hi Anne,
You've been tagged!!! We want to know more about you!
Have a great day!
Paulette
Your idea of adding sprinkles is a good one. Your cupcake will look good enough to eat!
Another beautiful basket, Anne! I need to get started on mine (plus last months).
So here's what floating around about my head... I was just at Candace's blog, and this HUGE bee flew in my bonnet.... ATAT Setting & Sewing weekend retreat/party! How fun would that be! So hopefully I've put the bees in your bonnets... and you guys set something up. HEY... I just think of the parties - not plan them. And I'll bring deviled eggs. And I'll make coffee too. :o)
French knots are perfect and so is beads... love your cupcakes.. well done!!! :o)
You HAVE to finish! I love your woolie blocks and look forward to seeing them every month.
Oh, I'm so excited for you! You're almost done. How wonderful is that? I can only imagine... can't wait to see the last ones. ahhhh...it so cool!
