Here we go with mine.
This is "Birds of a Feather" by Blackbird Designs. It needs the applique for the borders prepped and sewn. I'm doing this one by hand.
Block of the month - Block #1. It's Jan Patek's latest Girl Gang project. Karen and I are doing this and keeping each other on track. We have to post a picture on Dec. 5th of the finished block. Want to join us? Just go to The Quilted Crow's website and order it for yourself.
Block of the Month - Block #1. This just arrived from Farmhouse Woolens and I want to keep up with it. I love working with wool.
All I have to do on this is prepare the backing and then it will be ready to go to the quilter. This is "Jo's Whig Rose" by Jo Morton.
This one has been finished for about 2 years. It needs backing and then quilting.
Even Jack is wondering what's going on with "Quilting the Garden", another Blackbird Designs pattern. It's supposed to have scalloped borders and I just keep putting off doing the marking before it goes to the quilter. The backing on this one is already done. It's just so large that it's cumbersome to work with.
This little one is another Jo Morton design. I can't figure out what design to use for quilting. Any ideas?
"Winter Wonderland" by Crabapple Hill has been in progress for over a year. I usually work on this when we're traveling. We'll be traveling for Thanksgiving, so I'll work on it some more then. I still have lots to do on it.
This one is called "Stars around the Garden". I'm not happy with the fabric I chose in a couple of the blocks, so am planning on re-doing them. Aghhhh!
I don't know why I haven't worked on this one in awhile because I really love it. It is "Reminiscence" by The Rabbit Factory. It's all hand applique.
While I was working on the little pillow, I started thinking about a project in this book that I've been wanting to make. It would be darling for Christmas... Should I forget it for now?
Oh my goodness. You have some great pieces of work. I really love all the applique.
ReplyDeleteI found it really interesting how many projects we have in common. Some of mine are done, some have not started. LOL But I am in for some power sewing. Just the motivation I need.
ReplyDeleteYou have some absolutely beautiful projects going on! I love them ALL! I wish I could join you, but I have been working so many hours, I don't even have time to lift the needle lately :o(
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely drooling over your applique projects! Wonderful, just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that you would have to sew night and day and have some help to get all those projects done in such a short time.
Wow...that's a lot of projects. Does power sewing mean no sleep too? Quilting in the Garden is my very favorite but they are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so pretty. That's alot of UFOs. Good luck.
ReplyDeletePam

Anne,
ReplyDeleteNice buck, no wonder the guys missed him, one smart animal to hang at your house. He needs a quilt! Wow, do you mean to have them quilted with binding? LOL...
Your applique is so beautifully done, love them all, you actually have some projects that I don't...some I remember from SMQ's the little snowman is so cute. Emma is going to love the Minkie pillow and teepee...when all else fails follow the arrow....I am up for this challenge.....
Hugs, Carrie
OMGosh and I thought that I was bad! I can't wait to see how many you complete. I bet that there will not be a whole lot of sleeping going on at your house. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful projects in the works! I made the snowmen for the different months wall-hanging quilt for a friend of mine a few years ago. She has it hanging in her family room and leaves it out all year.
I hope that you get lots done in your time frame. Happy Power Sewing!!
Cindy
What beautiful pieces in different stages. I was drooling just lokking at them all. Good luck finishing them. I can't wait to see the finished projects!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your projects! I can't wait to see what you accomplish in 10 days. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHey Anna Banana - you've got some beautiful projects so close to being finished. I love your arrow to your machine - what a hoot. The little jo's log cabin I stitched in the ditch around the blocks, I liked how it turned out and I don't like to machine quilt. Seriously - your works is amazing and I think with setting a date I know we will see many of them done. I want all of them, LOL. They would look great at the Farmhouse. You know all quilters have lots of UFO's and I love the PIG's - never heard of that one. Now you go girl :)
ReplyDeleteHugs - Karen
Anne, I too have Birds of a Feather to finish I am at the same point as you. Then I have at least 6 Jo's projects to quilt and two of her projects to finish. I will try to keep up with you.
ReplyDeleteOh boy - I really do think we might be twins separated at birth. Almost every one of your WIP's is a quilt I've either started - or have a kit for - or got as a BOM - or have planned to start as soon as these UFO's are done. Sure wish we could get together one of these days!
ReplyDeletebeautiful projects!
ReplyDeletewould love to do each and everyone of them!
pick one and finish it, then pick another one and finish it
some are so close to being done, you can do this!
quilting the log cabin how about right down the middle of each log?
or just a baptist fan all over the quilt....
I always wanted to do birds of a feaqther quilt
I need to collect browns for it...
good luck and keep us posted!
Kathie
My goodness you have a lot of lovely progects on the way there and some so close to being finished.
ReplyDeleteWOW!WOW! WOW! You have some really beautiful projects there and some so close to finished...I'm cheering you on!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - what an inspirational bunch of UFOs! I love everyone of them!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on the Jo Morton Whig rose too...it's been on hold while I finished an Irish Chain...but it is next on my list.
OMG! - you have certainly made great plans for yourself! What beautiful quilts you have . . . the work that you've put into each one is amazing. All that applique takes time! Imagine when they are complete and you can enjoy each and every one. Good luck . . . we'll all the watching you. - Marlene
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all your UFOs and wondered how you do all your applique. I want to do so many applique quilts and just can't do them all by hand. But when I start by machine the prep work puts me off. I hate having to cut out all the freezer paper and then glue and then cut fabric. I just never get any where with it. But yours look so nice. PattiO
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts you have! Why is it so hard for us to finish something once we've started it? Good luck getting some of them done! :0)
ReplyDeleteWow! You do have a lot going on and so many are so close to being done. Gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could sew for the next 10 days. Stupid job!
What georgous projects!~!!! So many of those are the same ones I want to do , but haven't even started!!! You should be prod of yourself you are so close to completion!! All the best!!
ReplyDeleteChristine
Oh my...so many projects you don't have a full plate you have a platter full and then some. All beautiful though and all will be well worth completing. I just received my first block of the month from Karen as well and can hardly wait to start it. Love anything by Blackbird Designs. Never tire of their wonderful pieces. Last night I dreamt that hunters were on our front lawn looking for deer grazing and munching our apples in the back pasture. Humph..glad it was only a dream. Louise
ReplyDeleteYour work is gorgeous! I know how to hand applique, but I machine applique instead.
ReplyDeleteI'm going on a quilting retreat, as you know, so I will be power sewing with you.
Amanda
You better get busy girlfriend. I'm just sayin!!!! WOW!! And you don't pick the easiest of projects now do you?
ReplyDeleteI have those snowmen but mine arent stitched. Love yours. I love all your quilts. The snowman with the tree what pattern is that? I love it!!
Now get busy!!
Awesome post! Those quilts in progress are to die for! I can't begin to tell you what one would be my favorite. Your nearly done with all of them too.....goodness you need to just get in the mood to finish each one and imagine the pretties you'll have out in the open to look at daily in your home!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! Those deer are in your yard? They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd my, what a brave woman you are to dig out all your UFOs at this time of year. Mine are all safely hidden 'cause I don't want to hear a peep out of them until the holidays are over! Good luck!
Wow, first I have to say I love your BoaF quilt. I did mine in light beige with reds and greens but loved the brown backgrounds when I finally saw one!
ReplyDeleteThat small Jo log cabin quilt, I've seen done with a big stitch in black right down each log and it looked wonderful. I can send you a picture if you'd like.
LOVE everything! I so need to make a list like this but soon.
Wow - my head is swimming after looking at your WIP's! you deserve a medal, Anne, if you finish them all within your timeline! We seem to be working on several of the same - Winter Wonderland (my stitcheris are finished - working on the blocks), the Crabapple Hill pumpkin (I've only traced the design), and one similar to the Jo Morton log cabin - thought I would quilt mine in a stars and swirl design. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wowzer! I'm in awe of all your projects. I will be on the sidelines cheering you on to the 'finish line'. You can do it. I have several in kit form just waiting for a start date. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo may I come over and sit on a chair in the corner and watch you work. I promise not to distract you . :-)
I'm crazy about "Reminiscence" - it's a definite want to own!
I am blown away by all your beautiful WIPs! If you get them done by the 23rd I will pass out cold and never sew again. And now you have 36 comments to answer! Ha!
ReplyDeleteWhere oh where are you Anne???
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you have a lot of projects and they are beautiful! I love wool too and quilting. I recently got back into doing everything! Too many projects not enough time!!!!
ReplyDeleteChristy
I would need a deadline JUST to get my WIP's out of their hiding places! I bow before thee, or WIP-lash Queen.
ReplyDeleteI have some of the same S'WIP (someday-WIP) as yours... the snowmen BOM stitchery, the Snowman Threads book... and the biggie (projected WIP for 2017) the Winder Wonderland. Of course... now I want to get the rest of all your doing too!
Love all your quilts - very nice! A lot of them are on my 'to do list'. Your applique work is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and LOVE your quilts! Quilting in the Garden is amazing. I see that you're working on Winter Wonderland too. I just finished mine last night. It was really a fun one to work on. I did mine as a BOM at a LQS.
