Maybe we need to take this down!
On the quilty front. Here's block 4 of Wool Garden by Waltzing with Bears.
I prepped Block #7 of "Reminiscence" by the Rabbit Factory, so it's all ready to be stitched down when I have some time.
Got another block stitched of "Winter Wonderland" by Crabapple Hill. I decided to do these blocks in order from largest to smallest. I'm glad I did it that way because even though I love it, it's ALOT of redwork. I tend to get bored quickly with this one. I'm plugging along though and at least the largest blocks are finished.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions about what to watch next while I'm on the treadmill. I just started Season 1 of "24", and I think I'll watch "John Adams" when I'm finished with "24". By then the weather should be nice enough to start walking outside again. You all gave me some great ideas and I've written them all down to check out.
You can have Spring when Autumn arrives here ...LOL....I love the blocks you have done...I have #4 of Wool Garden on the list for this weekend...and I have the Crabapple Hill pattern in my sewing room ...seeing yours has made me think I should start it....but there are a few other things on the "list" before that...LOL....hope the sun shines for you this weekend....
ReplyDeleteLOL, Winter sign you have up and the Crabapple Hill "Winter Wonderland" - no wonder you woke up to snow..LOL You have winter/snow on the brain.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful blocks and stitcheries. And, when do you rest?
I'm loving the Wool blocks. You're doing such a beautiful job on them. They have the look of warmth and coziness - just right to wrap up in on a snowy day.
Have a warm day - SPRING really is around the corner.
Gee Anne, this is scarry. I absolutely love all the projects you're working on. The scarry thing is I probably would have made the same choices. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI love the wool that you're using. Is this a BOM where the wool is supplied or is it from your stash?
Now I'm off to check out the links you gave for the projects.
beautiful blocks
ReplyDeleteoh Love that snowman block, too cute.
I agree I am ready for spring and I LOVE the winter.
for some reason this has been a tough winter...
looking forward to seeing the leaves come back and flowers start blooming.
Kathie

Can you believe it ! What a crack up this weather has been. I almost planted seeds and stuff last weekend, because it was SO nice! LOL. ooxx`jodi That red work is amazing! If I come to your neck of the woods, will you give me lessons?
ReplyDeleteI can't say which block I love more, they are all great.
ReplyDeleteI really, REALLY, want to do that wool project.
I think you can keep that sign up till you thaw. LOL
Look at all that snow. It is beautiful and so are all your blocks. I guess the snow keeps you and you can work more on quilty things. I have been reading your blog but for some reason could not leave comments.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that sign is like tempting fate. But it sure is pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt's still winter here, too. (Calgary) :-(
ReplyDeleteI love all of your blocks, though. I need to finish up my block 4 of Wool Garden. I love that one.
oh my goodness!...your wool garden is absolutely gorgeous! i am loving it so much!
ReplyDeleteWe've had too much Spring already - temps have reached 80's in the past few days. Ugh! I hope this isn't a sign of a longggggggggggg hot summer. double ugh!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your projects are soooo yummy! Your Reminscence project is too die for - I absolutely love it. I have BIG applique plans and I'm super excited. LOL
Cute sign Anne! Now I know where it came from....All your blocks are wonderful, your Reminscence blocks is so sweet, nice to have it all ready to go. I really like how the Wool Garden blocks are coming together too. Enjoy your walks with your new show.
ReplyDeleteYour wool garden is stunning!! I love it. I really need to get my "Winter Wonderland" started...especially after seeing yours! It's gorgeous! I really like your background fabaric.
ReplyDeleteYou have been one very busy girl. I need to get my Winter Wonderland going. I love your background...already quilted...is it Sandcastle?
ReplyDeleteLooks like we got the same weather here yesterday. But today is dreary and wet. Lots of heavy rain and wind. The temp is now 48 and tonight it is dropping to 32 so there will be some flash freezing. Your wool creations are just beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished products. Linda
ReplyDeleteWe woke up to that too, yesterday, but thank goodness it's clear and sunny today! Love the wool, Anne! And I had no idea you were doing WW on the quilted fabric - now that's ambitious!! Don't you just love the little snow people?
ReplyDeleteCheers!
LOL! Before I read your caption under the photo of the sign . . . I thought, "take the sign down!" !! lol!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all your projects. . . & yea! . . there's the redwork! I told Meg about how you were doing it - & she wants to see - so I'm going to send her a link to you. It's looking wonderful! (I have mine. . . reduced - I'm doing it smaller. . . but that's as far as I've gotten!)
Have fun on your walks!
xo, Bren
I don't know where is the spring but isn't in Europ, It's winter time again grrrrrr generaly the spring is here too.......
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulation for your different bloc, they are so cut I love all.
Have a great day,
zaza.
Love your blocks. Your stitchery is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteWell of course you need to take that sled down. That MUST be the reason for the snow huh??! LOL
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing all you are creating!
WOW you've been busy over there. And it's beginning to look alot like Christmas!! Can you hear me singing??? Lololol It's beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been very, very busy . . . lots of new blocks to show us. I'm lovin' them all - great pattern choices! Your Crabapple Hill block is adorable, but I can see how it could get a bit tedious . . . well worth it, though - beautiful block. - Marlene
ReplyDeleteThat Rabbit Factory block is great! And you do such nice work! Very pretty Wool Garden too.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Snow! It's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing photos of your different projects. I think you were smart to start with the big blocks on the red work pattern. I like to do the same thing.
The wool project is very, very nice!
Love your winter wonderland block! How did you get the design traced on taht fabric! It looks so cool! I just stared that quilt and only have the snow angel block. I think your idea of largest to smallest maybe is a better idea! But I'm not real experienced with redwork so I was thinking more practice on the smaller blocks!
ReplyDeleteI sure like your Rabbit Factory block. I also really like your new blog header - a few weeks ago I started a hand applique project inspired by that picture.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your projects as usual. My niece and I are going to start on WInter Wonderland for my Mom for her birthday in Nov - it's such a cute quilt. LOVE your applique block - great fabric combo. The snow really needs to go away from our neck of the woods - I NEED spring.
ReplyDeleteHugs - Karen
I love that Crabapple Hill pattern...thanks for the ideal of doing the large parts first. What have you used for your blocks? It looks quilted in the photo.
ReplyDeleteMan, you get a lot of stitching done! I LOVE that block #7 -- gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteWe had a little dusting of snow last week too! Yours is so pretty, ours was so little and melted off fast.
ReplyDeleteNow it's sunny, even my bulbs are starting to pop up... and now you make me want to get crackin' on my Winter Wonderland! I had dream last night I could stitch really fast. But I awoke to reality and a ziploc of floss, bg fabric and the WW pattern... still waiting for me to tackle it. I love watching yours in progress!
