A Tisket a Tasket – block 8

It’s hard to believe that August is here and fall is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to fall because we’ve had some really hot weather and with it have come lightening and thunderstorms. (and….I don’t like lightening and thunder). 004-2

Isn’t this a cute block that Anne has come up with for August? Cupcakes are so the “thing” right now. And they are the perfect dessert to take to a picnic. (If there isn’t any thunder and lightening…LOL)

After I got my block finished, I thought it would have looked cute with some sprinkles on the frosting. I may go back and add some french knots and straight stitches in some fun colors. What do you think?005-1

Is anyone out there working on these blocks in wool with me? Because if not, I'm not doing anymore! It's too hot!

Hugs, Anne

  6. Your block is really cute! I think sprinkles is a great idea, be sure to show us a new pic if you add them. I haven't started these yet but plan to do them in wool. I hope to start as soon as I finish a wool block of the week from Primitive Gatherings. You really find working on a small block makes you hot? I haven't noticed that.

I look forward to seeing the rest of your blocks!!! I know you can't stop!
    Happy stitching!

  11. Well you know I'm not doing them in wool, Anne - only if I can have A/C at the same time - LOL! I love the little ladybug - are those beads on her back? Definitely do the French Knots and stitches - it will be even more adorable!
    Cheers!

  16. I am, I am, Anne! Wool and needle turn as well but I'm a bit behind on the needle turn ones. Just keep on going with the wool ones because they're my favorite. Not too long ago I just caught up on the wool May, Jun and July ones which you can see on my blog if you scroll back a bit.

How about using beads for the sprinkles? I think I just might do that.

When you see them all together like that, it looks awesome. Only 4 more to go. can you believe it?

So here's what floating around about my head... I was just at Candace's blog, and this HUGE bee flew in my bonnet.... ATAT Setting & Sewing weekend retreat/party! How fun would that be! So hopefully I've put the bees in your bonnets... and you guys set something up. HEY... I just think of the parties - not plan them. And I'll bring deviled eggs. And I'll make coffee too. :o)
