Anne said she loves her trolley needle. I'd never heard of it so wrote her back and asked her to tell me more. Here's what she said...
"It is indeed a stiletto, but rather than having to hold it, it is simply and extension of one of your fingers. That means all your fingers and thumb are completely free to move and help manipulate the fabric"
This is what it looks like. She said that she uses it when doing the starch method of applique. I think I see one in my future.
Since the wool in the giveaway came from Blackberry Primitives, I thought you might like to see a bit of their booth. I wasn't able to get back over there to take pictures until the last day and most of their wool was gone, but here's a look. And....no..., it wasn't me who bought it all!!!
Enjoy!
Another booth with fabulous wool was Weeks Dye Works.
Just look at these wonderful samples.
Oh my....floss and more floss.
And here's what's left at the Valdani booth. I wish I had gotten pictures the first day because it was so beautiful with all the colors lined up and filling the racks.
There's still more to come. It may take me until next quilt market to finally show you everything. I also have another giveaway, so there's still a chance to win.
Hugs, Anne

Wow what beautiful wool. I found your blog from yellow farmhouse Karen. I love reading your blog too. Sorry I don't have a blog. I meet Karen at the DesMoines Iowa quilt show years ago. I had been found her blog to read when I had been off work for foot surgery. I was so surprised when I saw her at the show and excited too. You both seem to be very talented women. I love to quilt and really love the wool but seem to have a hard time getting all of my kits done. I guess I'm more of a wool and fabric collector. Lol

Oh, yes! I use a trolley too for the starch method of applique--you'll love it! I'm not much of a notion gal but I can't imagine not having it. You just need to remember not to rub your eyes while wearing it--LOL!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Anna and Nancy. I'm going to have to see about the trolley...looks like it would work great for applique...luv your market pictures, hugs Pauline
