Check out the quilt behind Norma. It was another "stop me dead in my tracks" quilt. It's all wool on cotton backgrounds. I think all the backgrounds are the wonderful Japanese Daiwabo fabrics.
Here's a better look at it. Stunning, right? I wish you could have seen it in person. Pictures just don't do these quilts justice.
This one is a 9 block gem. I'm sure there will be shops out there doing both of these as Block of the Months. Maybe Karen will be one of them. Right, Karen?
The booth was full of all new designs.
If you're looking for patriotic quilts to make...go no further. This is your place!
How about a stuffed kitty to carry in the 4th of July parade!
Wouldn't this look cute in your entryway?
This is what I'm feeling right now with the wonderful spring weather we're having!
"Oh Happy Day" says it perfectly!
The Marcus Brothers booth had some delicious Civil War quilts. I don't know the name or the designer of this one. Can anyone help out?
This is the new Block of the Month from Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts. Many of you already know that Paula's husband passed away suddenly at the age of 60 just a few weeks before Quilt Market. Needless to say, Paula, Mary Ellen and their wonderful booth full of quilts was greatly missed. Our hearts go out to you Paula!
Also at the Marcus Brothers booth was this lovely quilt by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts. If I remember correctly, the name of the pattern is Abigail's Pins. I specifically looked for the quilt after seeing it on Pam's blog before market. It was well worth the search.
I'd say there's some inspiration for you with these pictures. There sure is for me!
Still more to come.
Hugs, Anne
Where to start? I love it all! Wish Timeless Traditions had an actual storefront--I'm not that far away from them. I actually love their second quilt the most. And I love all things patriotic
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Paula's husband. And my DH turns 60 next week.
Love that quilt by Pam Buda--saw it on her blog, too. Thanks for sharing these beautiful quilts--right up my alley!
Sew much eye candy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I really appreciate that you are sharing all of these great pictures from market! It's giving all of us a chance to see what we hope will be arriving in our LQS very soon! And yes... they are all very inspiring!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful items at the show and of course I love the kitty. I have done some with scraps, the patriotic theme is fun.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! More stuff to check out! Wow is all I can say about Norma's beautiful quilts. I can see some new purchases in my future! Thank you very much for showing all the goodies!
ReplyDeleteI so agree as you well know Anne that Norma's booth was wonderful. Lots of pretty's in there and of course they came home with me. Yes I can see a few of those in kit form in the future. I love revisiting market through your blog. You did a great job on getting pictures taken and it was fun doing market with you this time :).

I have to agree, this quilt did the same to me and to Carrie. Stay tuned for Summer Quilt Expo to see what we will have.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there might be a Timeless Traditions design in my quilting future too! I like the pillow in the foreground of the first pic too... and the "Welcome"... AND the Patriotic Runner... the Marcus Brothers Quilt is a show stopper! I've seen it on a couple of blogs and nobody knows the designer... pretty clever marketing if ya' ask me! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOH MY! So much eye candy! How did you survive market? I want to do it all I tell you.
ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the Market pictures. I'm pretty sure the quilt shown in the Marcus booth is Sweet Emma by Paula Barnes.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern for the blue Civil War quilt is called Sarah Emma and it was designed by Paula at Red Crinoline Quilts (used to be Bonnie Blue Quilts). Wonderful pictures - thanks so much for sharing them!!
