Fit to Frame challenge #3

Wow, hard to believe it’s already May and time for the next posting of the challenge that Karen, Sandy (no blog) and I are doing.

We are 9 blocks into this with only 3 more to go next month.   It really has made this little challenge so much fun and definitely do-able.

First up are Sandy’s blocks.

And these are mine.

This is my progress so far.

I’m still not sure how I’m going to finish mine.   I’m thinking of a small sashing between the blocks and then fabric borders.   So it kind of looks like window panes.  Any suggestions for me?

The BIG news I have to share is….drumroll please…. I’m going to visit Karen at the Farmhouse.   Sandy and I are leaving on Sunday to spend a few days with her enjoying her piece of paradise on the lake and then heading down to Minneapolis midweek to Quilt Market.   Karen and I will be helping out Gail Pan in her wonderful booth!  (unfortunately, Sandy will be heading back home before market begins.)  Needless to say, I’m super excited and can’t wait to see her beautiful house with her fantastic decorating!   (not to mention that wonderful “nest” that looks more like a wool studio!  he he.)

I’ll be sure and take lots of pictures to share with you.   You can follow me on Instagram @cottonsnwool  or on Facebook – Anne Sherrard Bryson if you want to see pictures before they make it to the blog…   (If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you know me and my timeliness of quilt market pictures.  HA)

Now head on over to Karen’s blog and take a look at her progress.   I love seeing her blocks because she’s combining cottons and wool.   Hmmm, wonder why I like them so much.

See you soon.   Hugs, Anne

Market continues

If you were tuning in to see progress on the Civil War quilt-a-long with Karen, you are gonna have to wait until next Sunday. Karen is in the middle of a major remodel of her nest and can't even find her sewing machine.   But...she promises she will have 2 for next week and I'm holding her to that promise. I think she plans to show pictures today of the remodel so I know we're in for a treat.

I'll just keep plugging through all the pictures I took (which aren't all that good, for some reason).   Oh well, you can get the idea.

It's always fun to see Kathy Cardiff and JoAnn Mullaly.    JoAnn didn't have a booth this time so she was there helping Kathy.   Kathy's pattern company is called The Cottage at Cardiff Farms and she always has some wonderful cotton and wool projects.   This time was no exception.

I love this one.

The wool mats were fabulous.

Isn't this canister adorable?   So cute in a kitchen.

This is Gail Pan of Gail Pan Designs.   She one of the wonderful Aussie designers who we all have come to love.  I swear...I want that accent!  I couldn't even get it to rub off on me!

After Fall Market last year, I got a Facebook message from Gail who was in a quandary.  She was supposed to ship her booth goodies to someone who would then bring them to Portland. I guess something came up and they weren't going to be able to do it for her.  So, knowing I live in Oregon, she asked me if she could ship them to me and then I could bring them to her.   Well, of course I said "Yes, certainly, no problem at all".

So here we are after she got her booth goodies all delivered. (Not the quilts....I might have had to "lose" one or two.  Hehe.

But... wait...look what she made just for ME!  A darling little sewing caddy.

How sweet is that?  When everyone saw what she made me, they were all begging her to store her booth goodies.  Sorry gals, I got her first!  Thanks Gail.  I love it!

And here's Debbie Busby of  Wooden Spool Designs.  She is as sweet as she looks!

Check out all her new wool designs.  Ahhhh heaven!

I think I need to do the sewing one for my nest.

We can never have enough Christmas, can we?

Darling little pincushions.   I should have taken a close up of the bee and ladybug because they were absolutely precious.

I still have more pictures to show you and also my quilt-a-long progress with Sandy (no blog).   Look for those coming up.

Have a great week everyone.

Hugs, Anne

The Aussies

Quilt Market wouldn't be complete without seeing our Australian friends and designers.    I just love talking to them.   I would really like to have their "accent".

First up...Gail Pan.   She has such wonderful designs.

Love these embroidery patterns.

The minute I saw this one, I knew I had to have the pattern.

Wouldn't this be cute in wool?

This one too!

It's always fun to see Lynette Anderson and see what she's come up with.    She has a new book coming out and was very proud to show it off.

A close up.  I think she said it will be out this summer.   (Hope I got that right, Lynette)

She has a new line of fabric coming out in blues...

and purples.

One of the projects in her new book.

Wouldn't you just love to have this towel in your kitchen at Christmas?   Love it.

Or how about a pillow?

Or two?

Have you seen the new book by The Quilted Crow Girls that just came out recently?

All the projects in the book are right up my alley.... in cottons and wool!

Just sit back and enjoy the show.

I will definitely be adding this book to my library.

I'm almost finished showing you market pictures.   Just a few more posts.

See ya later.   Hugs, Anne
