A couple of answers

I got a couple of questions from readers who were “no reply”, so I’m answering them here. 

I showed this picture of a quilt Marsha made when I was at her house for Christmas.   She also made me one.   Some of you wanted to know what pattern it was.

The pattern can be found in this book by Art to Heart.  (thanks for the info, Marsha)

Then I was also asked what the pattern is for the quilt on the design wall next to my CHAIR! ;-)

The pattern is by Bits and Pieces and it’s called “Stars around the Garden”.  The center of mine is a cotton background with wool applique.

It can be finished two different ways.

I’m going to finish mine like the bottom picture if for no other reason than to use up some of my stash on that outer border.   I’ve been cutting 3 1/2 inch squares like crazy. 

I’ve finished the pieced blocks and am almost at the stage of putting it all together.   Now, THAT will feel good!

 

Another question I had was from a reader who wanted to know where I got these Santa spools.

Well, I honestly don’t remember where or even WHEN I got them.  It was many years ago.  They are carvings by Eddie Walker and were distributed by Midwest of Cannon Falls.   I guess you might search eBay for them.

The occasional picture

I just had to share these pics of Emma and Mason with Santa.   

Emma wasn’t too excited about seeing Santa.  We finally had to tell her that Mrs Claus would deliver her gifts in order to get her to even talk about Christmas.  

When we walked into Santa Lane and saw that there wasn’t a line, we were hopeful that she’d sit on his lap.  

He was wonderful with her.  Took time to talk to her before having her get on his lap.   It was so cute when she asked him, “where’s Mrs. Claus”?  He said…”why back at the North Pole, of course”.  That seemed to be okay with Emma and she agreed to sit on his lap.   (that’s definitely a worried look on her face).  LOL

Here she is telling him that she’s “three”.

Wouldn’t you like to know what she’s thinking here?

As for Mason?   I know he’s saying…”what’s the problem”?  He’s so laid back and good natured all the time.
