March show and tell

Surprise...I'm on time this month!

Funny thing about Woolies yesterday.   Sandy and I were the only ones there.  Lots of people out of town or busy with other things, so we had show and tell for each other.   We had fun, even if it was just the two of us.

Sandy has been working on big projects so she only brought a couple of projects that she finished.

First up is a darling pattern called "Old Wood Hare" by Cheri.  Sandy did this one in wool on a cotton background.

This next little one is from Little Thistle Designs called "Penny Patch Rabbit"
It is so cute and little.  Only measures 8x10".  (Sorry, I couldn't find a website)

Next up are my finished projects.
When I saw Sandy working on that little cutie I knew I wanted one too,
so here's mine.
When showed Sandy that I added a button eye for the little bunny, she said that hers is looking backward, therefore, no eye!   LOL

This pillow is from a Wooden Spool Designs pattern called "Chubby Bunny".
He makes me smile when I look at him.
Don't those carrot flowers remind you of the popsicles we got when we were little with the tube pushing the ice cream up?   Ahhh, sweet memories.

Last year Cheri offered this next one as a freebie on her Facebook group.
I finished the top but never did anything with it.  I had some time last week, so made a pillow.
Now I'm all ready for summer.   (which can't get here fast enough)!

A cute table runner from Woolen Needle Designs called "Bunny in the Meadow.

And, as I mentioned last month, I'm working on the monthly series of patterns
from Buttermilk Basin called "With Cotton and Wool BOM.
I needed to get caught up on them, so this one is February.

March...

and April.

Well, that's it for March show and tell.
Hopefully there will be more ladies at Woolies next month and we will have more to show.

See ya soon,
Hugs, Anne

September show and tell - Part 2

I hope some of you were able to join us on Instagram.  There are lots of inspiring quilts, crafts and decorating.  You might get some good ideas.

On to Part 2.

These are all mine.   Remember, this is 2 months worth. (wink)

This quilt by Geoff's Mom called "In the Meadow" is one that I did as a Block of the Month from my local quilt shop.    It was a UFO, so I got it all finished up this year and off to the quilter.   Now it's a ready for Christmas decorating.

Another quilt by Quilts by Cheri. called "Pumpkin Patch"

This was a kit that I got a couple of years ago called "Country 9 Patch"

I made this scarecrow from a pattern called "Cooper"
by Homespun from the Heart.   It was an e-pattern that I found on etsy.

I really love these wall hangings for outside on my entryway.
This one is called "Trick or Treat" from Cottage Creek Quilts

A quick and easy wool project from My Red Door Designs
called " Harvest Time"

This next little one is called "Autumn Fest" by Chestnut Junction.
(Sandy made me the little scarecrow on the masher - cute, huh?)

I also made "Hocus the Halloween Cat" by Briar Root Primitives.
I thought my kitty (Jack) might become friends with Hocus, but no such luck!

And my Sept Indygo Junction block.    Still have 2 left to do.

I'm almost finished with a year of these darling little hanging quilts
from Buttermilk Basin called "Sew Simple BOM".
This is October.

and November

This is another e-pattern that I found on Etsy.
I can't find the pattern right now to give you the name.
It's a fun way to play with those old mattress springs you're seeing in all the antique stores.

Another wonderful design by Cheri called "Liberty Baskets"
I don't have much in the way of patriotic quilts, and loved this one when I saw the pattern.

Last but not least, another pattern from My Red Door Designs
called "Pumpkin Harvest".  I picked up the frame at a craft store.

Well, that's it.  I'm so glad to be caught up.
October looks to be a very busy month for me, so I'm not sure how much I'm going to get accomplished but I'm sure the other gals at Woolies will have lots to share this month.

Happy Fall Y'all.

Hugs, Anne

September show and tell

I know, I know...I'm late.  This time I have a really good excuse tho.   My computer caught a virus and had to go see the Dr for 3 days.   Then I had to get all the pictures loaded onto the computer and edited.   Since there wasn't much show and tell last month, there are quite a few pictures this time. I think I'm going to break it up into two separate posts.

Before I begin, I wanted to let those of you who don't know, about a little Fall Decorating Tour I'm participating in on Instagram.    If you want to see some fun pictures that Karen, Sandy, Patty, Tammy and I are sharing, then follow one of us on Instagram and that one will link you to the others.    I'm @cottonsnwool, Karen is @yellowfarmhouse, Sandy is @sfeigner, Patty is @myrty50 and Tammy is @basketnut1.    On Sept 23, we started showing our houses all decorated for fall and will continue every evening until Oct 11th.   Then we'll take a break for a couple of weeks and come back at the end of Oct with some Halloween decorating.    Hope to see you on Instagram.

Now, on with Part 1 of show and tell.

First up is a pillow that Marilyn made.  She borrowed my Indygo Junction pattern for July and made 2 pillows for her daughter and son in law who live in Boston and love to sail.

Mari made this quilt top but I don't remember the name of the pattern.  Sorry.

She also whipped up this goodie from Crabapple Hill Designs.

Jean continues working on her wool Summertime Sampler blocks.
Looks like these little fishies need some eyes!

The rest are all projects that Sandy finished up.

This one is called Country Homecoming from the book called Primitive Gatherings
by Terry Burkhart and Rozan Meacham
A few years ago I had a quilt-a-long on my blog for anyone who wanted to work on this one.
It was really fun to see all the different versions.
Sandy participated but just finished quilting hers.

This cute little kitty is called "Hocus the Halloween Cat by Briar Root Primitives

These next little pillow bowl fillers are from Cheri of Quilts by Cheri

And this one is a quilt block from Wooden Spool Designs called "Happy Halloween"
There are 12 blocks on the quilt but Sandy wanted to make a little pillow instead.

This little pillow was a freebie from Buttermilk Basin this summer.

And continuing on with the monthly series from Sarah Spoorer of Indygo Junction,
here is Sept

and June.
I think Sandy is now finished with all 12.

This cute patriotic quilt is called "Crossroads" from the book, Civil War Remembered.

We can't get enough of the quilts by Cheri of Quilts by Cheri
Cheri just shared this pattern on her Facebook Group.
It's called "Turkey Tracks".

This little one is on the same pattern.

There were so many finished projects that I'm breaking this up into 2 posts.
See you tomorrow.

Hugs, Anne

Show and tell...part 2

I'm still not sure what was happening with my pictures rotating.   I went back into "My Pictures" and tried to manually rotate them but it kept defaulting to the sideways view.  If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Today's pictures are my show and tell.

I'm still working on the little Buttermilk Basin "Sew" Simple BOMs.

This one is August.

June

and September.

This is another little kit I got from Karen right after she returned
from Quilt Market.  (Hopefully her Etsy site is up and running now).

It's called "Americana Basket" by My Red Door Designs

Continuing to make progress on these monthly Indygo Junction blocks
by Sarah Sporrer.

This cute flag quilt is a freebie on Cheri Payne's Facebook group.

Stacy from Buttermilk Basin had this little pillow on her blog hop last year.
I think it's still available for purchase.

If you're on Instagram, you can identify with me on this...There is so much inspiration out there from so many talented people.   Around Memorial Day, people started posting pictures of all their wonderful Americana decor.  It was then I realized that I only had one red, white and blue quilt.   That had to change!  LOL    So,  I was looking through my books and came upon this pattern by Paula Stoddard from the book Season's Stitchin's.   The pattern is called "Summer Fun".  I got it finished just in time to enjoy it for the rest of the summer.

The little firecrackers were a project that Sandy I made at her house last month
on one of our "craft" days.

T
This is "America Stitched Flag" by Buttermilk Basin
(can you tell I'm trying to play catch up with the Americana decor?)

And last, another Buttermilk Basin design called "Summer Wool Runner".
The pattern cover shows the background in black wool, but I thought it needed a lighter look.

I'm not sure if I'll be at Woolies this month because the family is coming for a visit, so I'll probably see you in Sept.   Oh my gosh....Sept?    How can that be?
Time really does fly when you're having fun!

Thanks for stopping by.   I know I don't blog as much anymore and I'm not even sure if anyone is visiting anymore, but I appreciate all of you who take time out of your day to stop by.

Hugs, Anne

June and July show and tell

Our gathering in July was pretty small.  Summertime is always like that here.  People entertaining or going on trips, makes for much smaller groups.   We did manage to have some show and tell though.
First up is Nancy.  She applique'd these adorable T-shirts for her grandkids who will be coming to visit soon.

And she finished this adorable wool kitty mat.

Jean continues working on her wool sampler blocks.
I think I mentioned the name of it in last month's post.

Marilyn finished up this adorable winter mat from Primitive Gatherings.
(not sure why it rotated)

Sandy continues her prolific ways with lots to show n tell.
This is a little sewing box that she whipped up.
I don't know the name of the pattern but maybe she will leave a comment
and let you know if you're interested.

She also finished this adorable quilt by Verna Mosquera of The Vintage Spool

a couple of close ups

This one is a kit we got from Karen. (mine isn't finished).
She had them for sale on her Etsy shop right after quilt market.

(Karen just let me know that she's having issues with the link to her Etsy site,
so send her an email at fhwoolens@gmail.com)

It's called "Potted Primrose" by My Red Door Designs

This  little pillow was a freebie on Cheri Payne's Facebook group.

And this pillow is one in the Buttermilk Basin truck series.
If you've seen the patterns, you can see how Sandy changed it up.

And even though Sandy and I aren't doing our monthly challenges anymore, we still find that we like the same patterns and push each other to work on the same things.

This one is a pattern called "Thankfulness" by Quilts by Cheri

Sandy's version...

and my version...

This one is called America the Beautiful, also by Quilts by Cheri.

Sandy made it like the pattern,

And I chose to leave off the words so that I could use a standard pillow form.
I'm running out of places to store all these pillows!

I'm not sure what is happening with my pictures and the rotation.  I'm going try to figure it out and continue the post tomorrow.

See you then!
Hugs, Anne
