Fall Festival

If you've been following my blog or Lori's Humble Quilts blog, you know that she organized a group quilt-a-long doing Jan Patek's quilt, "Fall Festival.

Our homework this month was 3 more blocks and start working on the flying geese that are scattered throughout the quilt.    I got my blocks finished, but haven't started on the geese because I haven't picked the fabric for my sashing.

I'm doing all the applique blocks using wool on cotton.

Here's what we did this month.

At the rate we're going, we will be finished in no time and this is a very large quilt.
It will be fun to have it finished in time to hang this Fall.

Now go check out Humble Quilts to see what everyone else accomplished this month.
Thanks, Lori for organizing this fun quilt-a-long.

See ya later,
Hugs, Anne

First Friday

The February show at Quiltworks in Bend was held last night and the featured quilter was Lori De Jarnett who some of you may know from her blog, Humble Quilts.

Lori has a wonderful collection of vintage reproduction quilts.   I told her I wanted to take her picture next to her favorite quilt and she picked this one.   She said she made it after seeing a picture of one in a museum in Lancaster, PA.

I'll just let you enjoy these gorgeous quilts.

And last, but certainly not least, this is Lori's Dear Jane quilt.   In my wildest dreams I can't even imagine making one.   Stunning!

Lori's quilts inspired me to buy more Civil War reproduction fabrics and guess what?  The shop was having a sale!   Woo Hoo!

If you have any questions about any of them, I'm sure Lori would love to hear from you.

The group display was our Woolies group.   I'll show you those pictures tomorrow.  Way too many pictures for one post.

Hugs, Anne
