A Surpise Party

Last weekend we headed to California to celebrate a milestone birthday with hubby's little sis, Barb. Her darling daughters threw a wonderful party and she was completely surprised. I didn't get any pictures of the "surprise", but here are a couple of "posed" pics. Don't let those few candles fool you....there should have been MANY more on that cupcake. LOL

Here's Barb with her family. Mike, Susie, Barb and Jill. They are such fun to be around. (Susie...the short one, is actually 3 years older than Jill...the tall one). Bummer, Susie.

And here's Barb with her big brother, Dave. (my hubby). We had a great visit even though it was too short. Happy Birthday Barb! (sorry about the grainy-ness of some of the pictures. I had my camera on macro setting...argh!)
Have you gotten your new American Patchwork and Quilting magazine yet? It's my very favorite and I have EVERY issue. I read them over and over again.
The current issue (June 2009), features Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs at her home in California. Wait till you see her studio. It's so pretty and a room that really brings out her creativity. Wouldn't you love to work in that room? Puts mine to shame, that's for sure.

This is the cute quilt she designed for the magazine.

Did you notice my cute little pink post-its peeking out at the top? Will there ever be enough time in this life to get to all the quilts that have post-its? Hmmm, I doubt it! I LOVE this quilt by Miss Rosie. Great way to use up all those scraps laying around. I could probably make this whole quilt without buying any fabric at all. I'm always drawn to Carrie's quilts.

I also love this one by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts. Met her at Portland Quilt Market and she's a real sweetie.

And if you've followed my blog for any time at all, you'll know that I love little quilts. This one measures 12" x 12". So cute!
Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like your SIL had a wonderful birthday, it's cool that she was surprised.

I'm not a magazine reader, always bugged me that there are so many ads. I do love minis though.

What would life be if we couldn't dream about ALL the quilts we want to make?

I'm so glad you showed the magazine because I haven't gotten mine yet! Maybe today. I'm proud to be featured in the same post as your famous hubby. The crafty man who makes all those wonderful furniture pieces you have yet to blog about. :o)
Seems to me someone else has a birthday coming up. Hummm...wonder who that could be?

My gracious Anne, your magazine looks just like mine. I marked the exact same "to do's". Now which one of us will get them done first. Not me!! Ha ha.
