Blogger's Block

Also known as Writer's Block. I've had a serious case of this and haven't been able to come up with anything to blog about.

On Tuesday it started snowing again, so I thought I would blog about that, but I was a little miffed at Mother Nature, so I figured I better not blog because it would turn into a rant! I'm so OVER the snow. The flakes were huge and if it had been raining, it would have been pouring! The snow didn't last for very long, so I calmed down.
Since I keep showing progress on the things I'm working on, I thought I would show you that I CAN finish things.

This is called "Feathered Stars" and it's from Kim Diehl's book, Simple Traditions. I was in a Yahoo Primitive group and we did it as our Quarterly Quilt. I pretty much used the same colors as Kim did because I think that's what drew me to the quilt. It's hanging in hubby's den.

This quilt is in our dining room and it's called "Holly Basket" from the book, Holly Threads by Need'l Love. It was designed by Gerry Kimmel-Carr. I know it's a Christmas design, but I like it, so I leave it up all year.

I saved this one for last because it actually gave me tendonitis and I swore I would never do another applique quilt.

It's called "Stella's Rose" from Samples of the Past, Part 3, by Blackbird Designs. I was taking a 4 week class and I got the whole blasted quilt finished in those 4 weeks, doing needleturn, no less! The pain in my elbow was so bad that I had to quit doing any handwork for quite awhile after. Taught me a really good lesson about "OCD".

Well, hopefully my blogger's block is gone. I'll be posting block #5 of Tisket a Tasket on Tuesday. Better get that scheduled in case baby grandson decides to arrive a bit early.

You've got fantastic show and tell so I don't know why you think you haven't anything to show!! Heck, do some old to you new to us and we'd be happy as larks. It is always fun to pop in on you!!
Tell hubby when he tires of that Kim Diehl number that Quilt Hollow has a spot for it above her mantle!

Oh my - those are all so wonderful! I know what you mean about the handwork. I have had to learn to be mindful of my limitations. A good pillow to support my arms and consciousness of posture really help . . . . and remembering that hours upon hours of stitching are not always a good thing *s*

I have had bloggers block this entire year. I don't know what is up. Love your blog!

Oh what wonderful quilts you have made. I finally made it to the city today to get the solvy but when I got home I realized I picked up Super Solvy medium weight. What a bummer! Have you ever used this weight before?

Wow, those are all gorgeous quilts--thanks for sharing them. I have had the book and stuff to make that Gerry Kimmel Carr quilt for ages. I absolutely love that quilt! Even though she is retired from the business end, she still does some designing for Renee Nanneman's Needl' Love books--thank goodness! Hope your block clears up soon--I so enjoy your blog.

Beautiful quilts . . . just my style! When you're surrounded by those wonderful quilts all day, I think you're allowed some bloggers block now and then. Admire where you've been and regroup to move on. Can't wait to see your wool Tisket a Tasket on Tuesday - I'm heading out on holidays for two weeks on Friday morning and I will definitely have to pick up some wool along the way. Have a great weekend. - Marlene

I think the Kim Diehl quilt should come visit me for a while! You'd be willing to do that, wouldn't you? LOL!
I can't believe you had snow! I'd be made, too.
Thank you for sharing your applique quilts. It is certainly worth the viewing.

Oh MY! Your Feathered Star quilt is stunning! I probably started that the same time you did with the Yahoo group, but I haven't sewn a single stitch on it - just have appliques ready to apply. I REALLY need to get busy with it because I just love it!
Thanks for sharing it!

Your quilts are all gorgeous.
Can't decide which one I like the most.
Take care of your tendinitis.
I know what you mean about blogger block.

Wow wonderful quilts Anne. I have tendonitis in my elbow but putting a pillow under my arm while sewing or quilting makes it all better.

I can understand the blogger block, I hand piece and quilt so don't have much to show on a day to day basis, I'm always scrambling to find something to talk about.

I ranted and raved about too much snow all winter and most of the spring too. It got real old here in NH. Thanks for visiting my blog. I love that table topper in your banner btw. Table toppers are one of my favorites.

Your quilts are fabulous. Love them all. Love the snow pictures too.
I have my elbow wrapped up now. I don't think mine is from applique, I think it is from the computer mouse. It sure is painful Trying all kinds of stuff to make it better. It is hard not to get on the computer each day but I probably need to take a little break I guess.

I feel your pain. If it snowed again in NH I think I would cry. I am so over snow right now. I don't think I could handle even a flurry.
I'm in your Yahoo group too, but trust me, I was not as diligent as you and my quilt didn't get made,LOL!
All your quilts are wonderful. I feel like I want to rent a room at your place. It's lovely! =)

Love those quilts Anne...all of 'em. And who says you can't have Christmas things out year round? I have my spool santas and a few others that I never put away.

Can't wait to see what you've done with the next T-A-T block!

Thanks for sharing your quilts.

All three quilts are gorgeous. I made the Kim Diehl quilt for my aunt. Kim came here and taught her applique technique. Once was enough for me, I am definitely a hand appliquer, but it was fun to do.

Your quilts are beautiful, but I especially love the Blackbird quilt. I always like their patterns.
I, too, have felt that pain from handwork.......knitting does the same thing to me but sometimes the pain is SOOOOOO worth the outcome!
