Quilt Show part 2

If you arrive in town early, early, early in the morning, the weather is cool and it's not too crowded. The main street looks like this.

this…

and this…

However, as the day goes on, it starts to look like this…

We went home at 11:30, so I have no idea how much more crowded it got. But…for some reason, it doesn’t feel crowded. In past years, the attendance figure has been estimated at upwards of 20,000 people. You have to keep in mind that the whole town of Sisters has a population of just over 1,000. LOL. This year there were 1300 quilts on display.

I’ll show you my favorite quilt first! I’m sure it won’t surprise anyone.

All WOOL! It was made by a quilter from Canada. I thought it should have come home with me, but I am too short and couldn't get it down. Darn!

I also loved this one. The pattern is by Miss Rosie’s. I think I have it in my "collection", so I might just have to pull it out and get working on one for me! (and it doesn’t even have any applique…whoa, that’s a shockeroo for me).

Here are more for your viewing pleasure.

I just love the way the quilts are hanging from the trees and buildings.

This quilter became my new best friend…unfortunately, I don’t know her name. LOL (she kept getting in my pictures and we had a good laugh about it)

Don’t want to over stimulate you with too many pics at once, so…more tomorrow. Hasta la vista, baby!

I have really enjoyed your Sisters Quilt Show pix!!! We went in 2004 and I'm still talking about it LOL. We arrived early enough to watch them hanging quilts and that was an experience in itself.

They are all so beautiful!

I see more than one applique quilt in your photos. Both are good. I can see why you liked the wool one and the Miss Rosie pattern quilt also.
I am assuming that, as usual, they had no rain during the show days.

Awesome. I can't believe how many women are all together on the streets but then in some photos I saw some men.
The wool quilt is so beautiful as are all of them.

More great pics Anne. I did see a ladder in one of the pictures, perfect for a short person to reach a favorite quilt LOL.

What a great show! 1,300 quilts and 1,000 residents . . . . enough for every man, woman and child to have more than one quilt. I like it *s*

One of my blog readers told me about your great photos. I had to come take a look. Love the one of the crowd!! I don't think I ever get out late enough to see the crowd like that. I am out in the mornings. I have to agree that it never really seems busy with the Cascade street closed. I love that! I also have to thank you for the flattering photo of me!!! Hard to find a flattering side of yourself when you are pregnant! Thanks! Valori
