Snowmen galore

Well, this is the last of the decorating posts (unless I decide to change things up which I constantly seem to do).

Here’s the main living area.  It’s considerably smaller than the old house with a lot less cabinetry and display areas.   It was a real challenge to decorate.

This little pine table is another one that belonged to my mom.  I always liked it and had plans to use it in my nest for a side table next to my chair.   It didn’t fit tho, so I brought it downstairs.

Notice the yellow/gold candle?  I never even noticed that it didn’t really look good next to all the “white” until I downloaded the picture.  Amazing what you see when you look at a photograph.

So, I had to change it.

We had bookcases about twice this size on both sides of the fireplace in the other house.

A few closeups.

That’s me with Santa on the left.  Emma is in the others.

Mason was in the hospital last year and didn’t get to see Santa.   I took Emma while Mommy stayed with him. (picture on the right)

This is all that fits on the other side of the fireplace.

I love all my decorations and so many of them have been given to me by special people, so I had a hard time not using them.   That’s why there are so many containers filled with “stuff”.

This last picture was taken from upstairs.

You might notice that I never showed the tree. We had to get a new one because the old one was just too big and wide.    Well, this one is too small.   It looks downright puny in the room so we ordered a taller one.  It hasn’t come yet, but I’ll take a picture when we get it all decorated.    We are thinking we’ll move this one into our bedroom which usually isn’t decorated.

So, that’s it!   Thanks for hanging in there with me and for your nice comments.   I really appreciate you all.

Merry Christmas!

Hugs, Anne

Hello ~

I was wondering if you could let me know the name of the quilt that has the houses, trees and squirrel that is hanging on your wall - it is just wonderful and I thought it would be a fun project to do. Any information you could give me is greatly appreciated.

Wishing a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

P.S. All of your decorations are just lovely!

I want your house; decor and all! I could easily comment on EVERYTHING adorable!! In your first picture on the table is a flat wooden thing with 6 cut-outs and your show first picture with white candles and I see in 2nd photo opted for lower red ones.....THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME AN IDEA!!! I purchased this same thing at a garage sale a few years back for a quarter...something ridiculously cheap and I had no idea what on earth I would do with it. Now I have the vision thanks to you!!! I had been told it was for men's change and trinkets from their pockets...is that right?

BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!
I disagree on the gold candle though lol....thought it looked good because of the gold star on the snowman and the gold in the quilt. So much for my 2 cents worth lol.
Your home and decorating are amazing! It has been a pleasure to view all of your pictures.

Since I didn't read all the comments from the last few days, I don't know if anyone addressed your fireplace mantle. My thought is to put the lanterns on the hearth and move the candleholders/candles as well as the picture onto the mantle. Just a thought.

Your home is gorgeous and I love the way you decorated.

Merry Christmas!

Very pretty. You are right...the white candle looks better than the yellow, you are quite the decorator. I would not have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out though.

I have totally enjoyed seeing your decorating. It is just wonderful. I didn't realize your new house was smaller than your old one -- you have done a terrific job for the first time out. I, too, love the quilt with the houses and trees. I guess you will need to share what that is as so many of us fell in love with it.

We were admiring that quilt you have hanging over the stairs, the big one with the houses, what pattern is that? It's so cute!

Your house is beautiful. I love everything. The shot from upstairs looking downstairs is so pretty.
We have a skinny tree and now I'm thinking I need a big fat one. The skinny one fit perfect in our CA house.

I found your blog while reading some of my favorites and your snowmen captured my heart. I have a snowmen collection, but it is very tiny compared to yours. Love them. Your house is beautiful.
