Comfort and Joy Block 3

Well, it’s time to show you what we’ve all been up to with our Comfort and Joy blocks.    We’ve picked up a few more blogging friends, however, a few of them aren’t quite ready so we’ll meet them next month.   

This is Sandy’s (no blog) block.  She decided to change hers up a bit and added some mittens and candy canes instead of the angel.  

 

 

And here’s mine.    I’m doing all the applique blocks in wool on a cotton background.   I think this little angel is just precious.

And the winner is…

Before I tell you who, I have to tell you how the winner was chosen.    A little 5 year old named Emma decided that #16 was the perfect number for a winner.

We just got back from seeing Emma’s dance recital in Seattle and it sure was cute.

 

 

We brought Emma and Mason back to Bend with us for a few days of Grammy and Papa time.

Since the giveaway was a book by JoAnn Mullaly of Wool Crazy JAM, I thought I’d leave you with one of JoAnn’s patterns that  I made last year for Christmas.   I saw this on the Country Loft blog and had to have it.  I called the shop and JoAnn actually answered the phone!  How cool is that?

Cottage at Cardiff Farms and Wool Crazy JAM...Whew!

Can you believe this will be the last market post?   Good grief, I've only been home for a month (or more).  LOL

I love visiting with Kathy Cardiff, the designer of The Cottage at Cardiff Farms.    Her cotton and wool patterns just speak to me.   (Can't tell you what they are sayin....Hehe).  She brought Jayne with her to help out.  Jayne is a fairly new blogger, so check it out.  

That's Kathy on the left and Jayne on the right.  

Kathy has a new book out called "The Cottage at Cardiff Farms Quilts" and some of these quilts are in it.  

Again....more cottons n wool!

This next wonderful lady is JoAnn Mullaly of Wool Crazy fame.   She has a really fabulous primitive style.  

She bought a lot of her props when she got to Kansas City and was selling them when market was over.  Sure wish I lived closer or had a truck to get them home.

Primitive Quilts and Projects and Whole Country Caboodle

I just love the Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  It's one of the few magazines I subscribe to and read over and over again.  The quality of the magazine is wonderful and they have managed to gather all my favorite designers to feature.   Here are some of the projects that are in the latest issue.   You'll recognize this first one.  It's the cover photo.

If you haven't check out the magazine yet, you really should.  It's worth every penny.  

That's Leanne Anderson of Whole Country Caboodle in the center.   She designs fabric for Henry Glass Co and I met her quite a few markets ago when our booths were close to each other.  

 Isn't this a clever idea?   Everyone needs a checkers quilt!

This is Bari J's booth.  She won best single booth award and I thought you'd enjoy seeing it.  So much creativity.

Here's Alexander Henry Fabric Company's booth.  They also won a best booth award.

And so did Michael Miller Fabrics.     Their theme was the circus.    See the lions on the right?   They were walking all over market and it wasn't until they turned around that you could figure out who they represented.

Cute, huh?

Starry Pines and Thimblecreek

I met Connie of Starry Pines Pattern Co one day when we were setting up the booths.  We bonded over the humidity and our sweaty bodies.  LOL   

One of her new quilts is called The Red Chair and it's so darn cute.   And all done in cottons and wool.  Just my style.

Look how the rug is woven with the wool.  

I love the simplicity of this next quilt.    Might have to add it to the list of "to dos".  

Connie really does a wonderful job with her wool designs.  

She recently started a blog, so check it out.  

And here are two of my good friends from Thimblecreek Quilt Shop in Concord, Ca.    It's the shop where I learned how to quilt.    Roxie and Joe are the husband and wife team that own the shop and now have their own patterns as well.    If you are ever in northern California, be sure and head over to their store.  And tell them I sent you!

The house quilt is right up my alley.  

You might recognize the quilt on the right.   It's called Ryokan and was the cover photo quilt on an issue of Quiltmania magazine.   It's a really striking quilt.  

And even more eye candy.

When I went past the Cotton Tales booth, there wasn't anyone in it so I hope they don't mind that I took pictures.

I smiled every time I walked past this Dr Seuss display.    I know Emma and Mason would have loved it.  

And check out these gorgeous Thimbles by TJ Lane.  They are so lightweight and comfortable.  If you ever want to treat yourself....this is where to go.
