Make that FIVE!

When my longtime friend, Patty, was visiting from California  last week, she saw my four finishes from the last post and the fall decorating I'd done and she asked me what I had ever done with my Crabapple Hill stitchery from years ago. (like 7 or 8 years ago)!

Hmmm,   what had I done with it?    I knew I hadn't ever finished it, so it must be in a box or bin in my closet.  So, off on a hunt I went... and there it was.  Another UFO!   Yikes, will it ever end?

I had a stay-at-home day yesterday and my goal was to get that project finished.  Binding went on today and Voila...here it is.

Thanks Patty, for reminding me!

I hope I don't find anymore fall UFO's lurking in places because I have so many Christmas ones I better get busy now if I want them out this year.    I have to say that it really feels good to actually "finish" something.   And....if you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I really don't like quilting my projects.   I always use my friend Mary's phrase.  "I quilt by check".  I think I've found that I can get by with straight line quilting, but don't ask me to put a curve in anything.   :)

I haven't figured out where I'm going to put it so for now it's sitting on Mr CnW's footstool waiting for Jack the Cat to find it and claim it!

(Hmm, about 20 minutes after posting, look what I found)

What is there about a quilt that attracts cats?

Hugs, Anne

Very nice pumpkin, and I like the way you finished it. It's good to hear that someone else relies on friends to quilt their projects if it requires something more than straight line quilting! I'm with you!

Wonderful project and your kitty looks so much like my Dora, who I lost last year to illness.

And your kitty is adorable!! Belly rub time....!

Dogs like them too! I can never arrange quilt blocks on the floor or even the bed without "an investigation" and "the claiming ceremony". Sigh....

Love your little quilt!

I feel better knowing I'm not the only one not really into the quilting part of a project!
My cats are partial to wool--fur sticks to it better!

A beautiful finish and a very cute cat!

Cats love quilts because they can leave their fur all over them!

Another great finish and gotta LOVE that Jack the Cat! :-)

It just got the house special stamp of approval :) My cat will actually dig a new quilt off the shelf in order to roll on it...must be a scent marking possession thing lol!

I remember that pattern. All the stitches make for an interesting pumpkin. Trust a friend to remind you about a UFO. I have one that does that quite often but it doesn't motivate me like it did you.

Okay, now you're just bragging:) I am jealous - I have several things to finish as well. It looks beautiful - and the Jack is orange (in spots) so the cat hair will match - heehee. Keep up the good work.

Haven't you heard? No quilt is complete until it has pet hair on it! At least that's the way it goes at my house.

I would say it has been claimed. And it is so pretty. I haven't seen that pattern, but I like it!!
Don't those UFOs hide well?

Well you did a heck of a lot better than me, Anne - mine pattern for this is still in the package where it's been for 3 years - lol! Jack smells his "best buddy" on the quilt!
Cheers!

Love the pic of your kitty with the quilt! What IS it about cats and quilts?? We have three and they find every runner/quilt in the house and claim them. Beautiful projects!

Looks like mr. kitty is saying it doesn't have enough cat hair on it....My cat does the same thing.

Oh.... I love how you finished that pumpkin top! I see that it's cat approved! ;o) I have that same top stitched and waiting to have something done with it! Never wanted it to be a pillow! I will borrow your idea of the multi borders! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
