More prepping

I have been wanting to do this pattern by Heart to Hand since it was published a few years ago.   It's called "Merry Christmas Quilt".

A couple of years ago Karen at My Red Farmhouse offered it as a block of the month.   I was way too busy selling our house and moving to a new one to tackle the project, but I ordered the backgrounds from her in case I ever got some time to start it.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to get busy since I was in my wool prepping "frenzy".    Yesterday I got the final block prepped and thought I'd share them with you.

These are all of the blocks.

Here they are a bit closer.

The little baggie is there holding a couple of applique pieces that will be added after the blocks are sewn together.

I changed this block to the candy canes.   The original design has an angel.

As you can see, there's lots of stitching and embellishing to be done.

This is what the quilt will look like when it's finished which will, hopefully, be next Christmas.

Believe it or not...there are still more prepping projects to show you!

I have a wool project that has been "in waiting" for quite some time. I should send it to you for prepping as you are in a prepping frenzy.

I still see this project in the works on a blog now and then. Still very much up-to-date.

Really like this project. Can't wait to see it as you work on it. I was tracing a wool project yesterday. Now to iron it on the wool today.

Very cute! It's a big job to prep all at once, but it's what I like to do in most quilts! What do you use to attach your pieces of wool? I have tried glue sticks, and most recently, fusible webbing of all kinds. I like that webbing stops fraying, but it does not seem to get hot enough through the thick wool to stick well to the background.

My goodness but you are on a roll! Loving all the projects you have prepped. It is so time consuming doing it all in one go but so worth it when you sit down in the evenings to hand stitch:)
I'm truely inspired:)

Girl, I can't believe how much work you're getting done these days! Wanna come and spread some of your magic at my house?

I'm just ready and enthused to start a new project but we're headed out of town tomorrow for a bit. Alas.

That's going to be a gorgeous quilt.

now that is what I need to do for myself! A prep day (week? month??). I think it would get me motivated to get more of my wool projects-in-waiting done. Are you fusing the pieces or using glue stick?? I'm torn...
