March Sewing with Sandy

Here we are again with more projects.   Our projects seem to be getting smaller, allowing us more time to work on other things too.

So, let’s start the show.

First up is Sandy’s version of “Spring Has Sprung” from the Spring 2015 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.

This picture is a bit deceptive.  My border fabric is a pretty soft pink pastel.

This next pattern can be found in the “Moda Candy” little pamphlet.  The design is by Primitive Gatherings and called “Old Glory Gatherings.

Oh, I just noticed that I forgot to put a star on the sheep’s blanket.    Guess it’s not really finished!   LOL

Continuing on with the Buttermilk Basin “Banner’s Thru the Year”, this one is May.   Sandy changed her basket into a pail, but when we had our show and tell, she realized she forgot the birdie.

Mine is like the pattern.

And lastly, this is another pattern by Buttermilk Basin called, “Joy Table Runner”.   Both of us turned it into a pillow.   Sandy used Sandcastle fabric which isn’t being manufactured anymore.

I used Silk Matka and couldn’t decide if I wanted a dark background or a light one, so I made one of each.    Which one do you like better?

So, that’s is for March.   We are still having lots of fun with our little challenge, so will keep it up!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Anne

Beautiful wool pieces and I do like it with the border, I didn't add a border to my chick piece.

I was looking forward to seeing what the two of you decided to make this past month. I like your Joy piece on the yellow/gold background best. I have the banner patterns too but have only made January and it is not quilted.

Love the design modifications you both did yo your projects.

I think I like your yellow background more, it has an added richness to the pillow. I'm also a sucker for yellow.

Great job on both of your sets of projects.
